Not a whole lot out there for me this week, which is fine, I’m still cleaning up some games that I’ve left unfinished, not to mention my copy of Valkyria Chronicles should be here soon, so I’ll have lots to do regardless.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising: It looks good… it’s getting good reviews… but I’m not at all interested in picking it up at the moment. I think I’m waiting for someone to tell me how awesome it is and that I have to try it, or for the demo to finally drop (previously cancelled due to time constraints).
NBA Live 10/NBA 2k10: If thats your thing… Don’t get me wrong, I love sports games but, basketball video games haven’t been particularly good in a quite a while imho, I played the Live 10 demo, and didn’t notice anything about it that made me think I needed to have it.
Demon’s Soul: easily the most compelling release this week, however I don’t think I’ll be picking it up just yet. Despite the positive reviews, I don’t know what to think of this very creative use of online play. From the sounds of things having random people end up in my what seems like a single player experience for the most part, and have that occurrence be almost necessary at times, I just don’t know how it’s going to work let alone how its going to work when those players are there to kill me instead? Very strange, and very interesting. – Video Reviews: GameSpot, GameTrailers
CitiesXL: I won’t beat around the bush, it’s a new simcity, that isn’t a simcity game. I played a lot of simcity and it’s iteration through to simcity 3000, and liked them, there hasn’t been a game like this in my life for a long time now so I’m kind of interested. The problem is I don’t know if I have the patience for this kind of game anymore, I really want to like it though so I may give it a shot.
Wii Fit Plus: I’m pretty confident that this game will be making it home in the not too distant future… it’s not my cup of tea, but its predecessor had quite a bit of play time around the house.
